چکیده

Abstract Senna alata (L.) Roxb., locally known as “Ketepeng China” from the family of Fabaceae, is a shrub or small tree that used an ornamental flowering and for medicinal purposes in tropical subtropical countries. Various parts S. plant (leaves, flowers, roots, stem) are traditional medicines to treat typhoid, diabetes, malaria, asthma, ringworms, scabies, eczema. The present study was designed investigate conservation by establishing efficient seed germination method. seeds responded differently growth each location medium. best result-produced seedlings grown pots filled with sand, both at Bogor Cibodas. percentage on sand higher (around 96.7%) than husk media (about 10%) 10 planting days.

Sennosides A and B production by hairy roots of Senna alata (L.) Roxb.

Hairy roots of Senna alata transformed with Agrobacterium rhizogenes, strain ATCC 15834 were induced and grown in half-strength Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium. Effects of sucrose contents and hormones on the growth and sennosides A, B production were investigated. Hairy roots cultured on hormone-free half-strength MS medium containing 5% sucrose under dark condition mostly stimulated the growt...

Senna alata leaves are a good source of propelargonidins.

Proanthocyanidins (PA) in Senna alata leaves were investigated by thiolysis with benzyl mercaptan, LC-MS and NMR and consisted of almost pure propelargonidins with <6% procyanidins, had B-type linkages and a mean degree of polymerisation of three. Epiafzelechin was the major flavan-3-ol subunit (>94%) and epicatechin a minor constituent (6.4%) in residual PA and mainly detected as an extension ...

A STUDY ON SEED GERMINATION OF AVENA LUDOVICIANA AND THE EFFECTIVE FACTORS IN SEED DORMANCY BREAKING

Wild oat has two seeds in a spikelet that they have different physiological behavior in regard of  seed germiantion. The upper seed of spikelet is smaller and has deeper dormancy than the lower seed. The range of temperature for germination is  5˚C  to  25 ˚C  and optimal temperature is 15˚C. Both kinds of seeds showed the more  germination rate in low temperatures so that 5 and 10˚C are better...
